Apple tests OLED screens for its future MacBook Air and iMac

01. Introduction to OLED screens at Apple

Apple, the technology giant, recently announced that it is in the testing phase of OLED screens for its future MacBook Air and iMac models. This news, reported by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, indicates that while progress is being made, updates will not be available immediately.

02. The upcoming models will maintain LCD screens

According to leaked information, the new versions of these devices will continue to use LCD screens for the time being. Mark Gurman expects a new iMac to be announced this week, while a refresh of the MacBook Air is anticipated for early 2027. However, no specific date has been provided for the transition to OLED screens.

03. Why OLED screens?

OLED screens are known for their superior display quality. They offer deeper blacks, more vibrant colors, and better energy efficiency compared to LCD screens. If Apple adopts this technology, users could benefit from a significantly improved visual experience, whether for work or entertainment.

For Apple users, this evolution could represent a significant change in the use of their devices. Design and content creation professionals, in particular, could take advantage of the benefits of OLED screens, including better color accuracy.
